Trally Wins 2nd Place In Alibaba's Demo Day Amidst Tech Innovators

Out of 6 innovative tech startups, Trally secures the 2nd place and managed to earn USD$5,000 Alibaba Cloud credits.

With almost 500 participants and 17participating start-ups, the annual Alibaba Cloud-SUSS Entrepreneurship Demo Day was conducted for the second year in consecutive succession.

The participating start-ups include edu-tech platforms, health foods, and home farming – one of them being Trally, a peer-to-peer marketplace for virtual travel experiences.

Out of which, 6 of them were selected to pitch for a chance to win up to $10,000 in Alibaba Cloud credits.

Taking her experience from being a hotel manager for 7 years, Kylie, Founder and CEO of Trally, noticed that many guests are actually keen to travel and explore the world.

The limitations that kept them from doing so were: money, time, and energy.

Needless to say, the pandemic just made everything worse.

These became the key motivators to launching Trally, to improve and innovate the ways that we interact with the world, offering opportunities to many others who used to be limited by physical boundaries.

This idea was well-received by the judges as they raised concerns about how Trally can be optimised, how the revenue stream would work out between the business and the hosts, as well as Trally’s future plans as COVID-19 slowly makes its way out of our ecosystem.

After a 7-minute Q&A session and a5-minute break followed the announcement of the Alibaba Cloud – SUSS Entrepreneurship Programme where Trally clinches 2nd place and USD$5,000 Alibaba Cloud credits.

This will add on to the SGD $620,000 that was raised through several fundraising efforts from Trally, providing ample support for the budding business.
